The University of Dunaújváros, being the one and only higher educational institution of a dynamically developing town, lying in the geographical centre of Hungary plays a leading role in the higher education of the region.

The University of Dunaújváros, being the one and only higher educational institution of a dynamically developing town, lying in the geographical centre of Hungary plays a leading role in the higher education of the region. Currently there are more than two thousand students studying at UOD. The University of Dunaújvároshas seen rapid development during the past years, and has launched foreign language undergraduate and graduate education for students on different Engineering and Communication programs.

From the 1990's the UOD has conducting metallurgical and mechanical engineering, technical management, engineering teacher training and information technology courses. Then the beginning of the 2000s communications and media studies become available as well.

Our students can choose from forty-five specializations of eleven basic majors in the course of full-time and part-time study in Hungarian language. Some programs are also offered in English: including the Technical Management BSc, Engineering Information Technology BSc, Business Administration BA, Communication and Media BA, Material Engineering BSc, Mechanical Engineering BSc plus MSc and Engineering Teacher MA programs, for instance.

The UOD is located in the centre of Dunaújváros city. The European level campus provides a friendly environment for the students. A regional library, several large lecture halls, professional laboratories, two large conference rooms and a new ballroom is located in a new, multi-functional 4000sqm building in the area of the campus. Several newly renovated student hostels are awaiting our students and guests. In front of the main building, a new public park pened with a fountain, a bio-pond and planted areas. The internet is accessible through wifi and Microsoft Windows and Office are granted for the students for free.
