Embassy of Hungary in Tirana

The Embassy of Hungary in Tirana represents Hungary in Albania, transmits messages of the Hungarian government to the government of Albania and vice versa. It informs the Capital about important political, social, economical, military and other events happening in the host country and help the hungarian citizen with consular assistance and consular protection. It prepares international treaties and official state visits.

Relations between Albania and Hungary began in the year 1922, when Albania was already an independent country. The relations between two countries have developed since the 15th century. The political relations between Albania and Hungary are consolidated and stable. Both countries have shown will in order to further intensify their political dialogue through visits at all levels, including high level visits, as a relevant contribution for strengthening the relations between the two countries and further intensification of the cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Embassy of Hungary in Tirana serves as the official representation of Hungary in Albania. Situated in the heart of the albanian capital, the Embassy is committed to further strengthening the longstanding diplomatic ties between the two nations. In addition to promoting cooperation between Hungary and Albania, the Embassy provides consular support to Hungarian citizens living in or visiting Albania.

Through economic diplomacy, cultural exchange, and consular support, the Embassy plays a vital role in promoting Hungary’s interests and fostering close cooperation between the two countries. Hungary has supported vividly the EU integration process of the Western Balkans, and has given its assistance to Albania and other Western Balkans countries with grants, mobility programs, or different types of assistance funds.
