Establish groups and start networking

Every activity you start and run on the portal is embedded in a community focused context, because this is the main goal of the portal: establishing communities that are constantly developing and growing. Groups can be the perfect instruments for this purpose. Let's see how you can create one!

Therefore, despite the fact you cannot contact other alumni members directly via the Alumni Hungary Portal, you have another great chance to start conversations and debates on the platform: through Groups.

Groups are also useful, if you want to bring like-minded people together, not with the aim of discussion but to organize other events and meeting occasions. Here you can post your event and every member will see it.

The group activity on the portal is still in the initiation phase, but you can already find some topics on the website:

  • Graduates of 2017
  • Graduates of 2018
  • Job Interview tips from a professional interview coach
  • SH Farewell party 2018 – Networking

Start a group in 6 easy steps

#1 Finish your 2-round registration on the portal, because you are only able to establish a group, if you have full membership.

#2 After logging in, click on the Add content green button in your header menu of your profile. Search for the Group option.

#3 Fill in the related form and save the data.

#4 Promote your group among members on Facebook, or write us an e-mail, and we help you in the promotion. Members who follow you will automatically receive an e-mail, every time you create a group. Your group will also appear on the group list page under the Explore the network main menu, so other members can easily find it anytime.

#5 If you want to have real conversations, than add a Forum topic (Node) to your group with a short description about the topic. Open the main page of the group, click on the Node title above the group picture and choose Create a node, then save it. Your topic will appear on the main site of the group where every member can click on it, and add her/his own            comments.

#6 You can also add topics to those groups where you are only a member, not a creator. In this case, you have to do the same steps mentioned previously.

For more answers please visit our Frequently Asked Question section. You can find further information here, related to the group administration, membership and etc.

Have a great experience!
