There is a small volunteer group (members are partly in Hungary and partly at home or a third country) that help us building up an international alumni network with 10 different activities. They search and facilitate grassroots alumni community or begin to build up a new one. They promote Hungarian higher education based on their experiences to help fresh alumnus in their temporary season after graduation and to search senior alumnus.
Currently, there are 34 volunteers in our programme from 17 countries and we are a very colorful community speaking 23 languages apart from English! Our group studied 25 different majors (mostly master courses) at 14 different Hungarian universities. You have the opportunity to read their blog posts on their experiences and on how to arrange alumni meetings.
Our volunteer programme is a long-term project (of 2 years at least) after which we give you a certificate or reference for your future work as a recommendation. Among many various activities, you can help us promote Hungarian higher education by writing blog posts and making a vlog about your professional or personal experiences. It could be about your time at university, your career path or things you've learned along the way. If you’re a senior alumnus, you can share your story with an interview. If you are planning to stay in Hungary, your organizational assistance is appreciated at various Tempus Public Foundation events.
On the other hand, whether you are at home or in another country, you can find other Alumni Network Hungary members to organize local alumni meetings. You can facilitate other self-organized meetings or cooperate with your Hungarian alma mater’s alumni group. You can focus on mentoring prospective students from different backgrounds by making yourself available to do the first steps in their carrier . You can present an insight into your job, the skills required, the challenges you face, and your advice for students who pursue a similar objective to yours.
