A resident doctor in cardiology of the Heart and Vascular Centre was awarded by the international board of judges of the third pacemaker contest, which was held online due to the current epidemiological situation. Dr Mihály Ruppert received one of the most prestigious recognitions, the award of debate skills at the World Pacing Series educational program.
The young resident doctor presented the process of providing a patient having a serious autoimmune disease with a wireless pacemaker, after which he had to support the necessity and efficiency of the method with professional arguments.
At the third World Pacing Series symposium organized by Vitatron/Medtronic, there were 18 countries competing; in the pacemaker contest section, the awardees of the best case, the best presentation skills and the best debate skills were chosen out of 29 presentations. The award of the best debate skills was received by Dr Mihály Ruppert, a resident doctor in cardiology of the Heart and Vascular Centre. In his case study, he presented the process of providing a patient having a serious autoimmune disease with a wireless pacemaker. Earlier, the patient had received a traditional device, which had to be removed because of an infection, therefore a new solution was required.
