The reopening of the Embassy of Hungary in Addis Ababa in 2016 is reflected in the increased intensity of our bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of education - every year, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme offers 50 Ethiopian students the opportunity to start their studies in Hungary. As the Embassy of Hungary in Addis Ababa, we put an emphasis on developing our relations with community of the Ethiopian Alumni Students, who used to study in Hungary.
Hungary has been maintaining excellent relations with Ethiopia for over 60 years, our bilateral cooperation is based on a solid foundation of friendship. This diverse network of relations includes economic, political, educational and cultural aspects, too. Every year, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme - a programme financed by the Goverment of Hungary - offers 50 Ethiopian students the opportunity to start their studies in Hungary.
With its dynamic team, the Embassy of Hungary in Addis Ababa, is working on deepening the intergovernmental relations and enhancing the foreign economic relations, which we hope will contribute to Ethiopia's economic growth and development projects.
Our Consular Section, in addition to issuing visas to Ethiopian nationals, also assists Hungarian citizens living in Ethiopia or planning to travel here. As another important task of our Embassy, we also provide support and information to Hungarian Small and Medium Enterprises in order to help them fulfil their market access plans in Ethiopia.
As the Embassy of Hungary in Addis Ababa, we put an emphasis on developing our local relations not only with the Ethiopian government and local companies involved in the foreign trade sector, but also with international organisations present in Ethiopia and the community of the Ethiopian Alumni Students, who used to study in Hungary.
