Embassy of Hungary in Ulaanbaatar

Hungary and Mongolia established diplomatic relations 74 years ago, but the two nations have a common history for a longer period.

The relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Hungary have been progressively developing in recent years, spanning many areas of mutual interest. There is a great potential for further enriching the traditional friendly relations between Mongolia and Hungary with substantial economic initiatives and implementing mutually beneficial projects, particularly in culture, tourism, trade and education. Cultural cooperation also plays a vital role in strengthening people-to-people ties. Hungary's support for higher education of Mongolian youth is an important goal. Over the past 70 years, thousands of students have studied in our country. In 2015, 100 students were going to study in Hungary on the basis of the Hungarian government's scholarship. In January 2016, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban decided to increase this number to 200 during his visit to Mongolia. Thus, 200 Mongolian students have the opportunity to study in Hungary at all levels of education and in all fields every year with the 100 percent scholarship of the Hungarian government.
