Imran Abou, who is a PhD student at University of Szeged and attended the volunteer training that focused on networking, summarizes his thoughts about these two very important topics.
Life of humans starts from the womb of mother, when the heart beat of an embryo takes its first course towards journey of life and it ends when the soul departs the body. During this whole transition of life from the mother’s womb to the last moments of life, a person is destined to learn and educate. So education has always been an important treasure to the world and the educated society is always well organised, strong and united. It has always been a powerful tool to eradicate social and economical afflictions of society. It also plays an important role in developing a person into a responsible citizen and kindles in us the flame of knowledge and virtues. But what we should realise that the real education is not just limited to text books, but it’s something that gives us visionary about the every realms of life and enlightens our brains. In my whole experience of life I always take a look in our society where youth are emerging as trend setters and aiming high, but do we feel that we really need some minor reforms in the strategic approach of education? So I hope to start writing about values of education involving the importance of networking. Though I am not an expert in this field but I would share my piece of experiences. I believe that it could be a source of inspiration for readers to get insights about values of educated society and its benefits of networking.
As education is important in grooming the life of a person and adding values to all realms of his career so is the networking in life. Networking is a bridging connection enabling us to create an atmosphere, explore and create connections in the path of our career. This enhances our skills and paves a way for a positive growth in life. In the recent path of my career I got an opportunity to join as alumni volunteering platform of Tempus Foundation based in Hungary, a foundation with a vivid goal of a global educational and scientific outreach providing thousands of scholarships for the students from more than 50 countries. This opportunity to attend a very well organised training platform from this foundation involved the well experienced trainer and exemplary organising staff. This training programme was a quite eye opener for me as it involved the varied sessions of how to network in your career and life. I realised that a diverse network is a basis for various opportunities and you get to learn a lot about the deep values of networking and social connections. So I realised that we need to go out of our comfort zone and start a designed strategy to develop our social skills enabling us to increase our temperament initially for personal level of networking and later at global level.
In the past hierarchical system of education sector that has left with some minor gaps in our society, I feel that the set of minor reforms are much important and will add details to our aims in life. I hope that if we imply such minimum set of reforms in our system, then days are not far when our youth will excel in every aspects of life. We are all aware of the fact that the negligence of a teacher does not have an impact on the student only but the whole society becomes victim of it later. So we should accept that the reforms in the education and prioritizing networking as a basis for social outreach are very important entities. And we believe to promote education for all as education is the fundamental human right for everyone.
I would like to end this with the wonderful quote of famous American philosopher and educational reformer John Dewey who said that “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”. So we have to keep learning and educating throughout our journey of life.
