Research.com, compiling various rankings in higher education, has been publishing its lists of the world’s top scientists since 2014. The platform also presents the international list of the best scientists by discipline, on the basis of the ranking of journals comprising their publications.
Position in the ranking depends on the scientist’s D-index, which only considers publications and citation data for the examined discipline. The top lists were made using the data of 166,880 researchers found in several bibliometric databases, and within that, more than 15,018 profiles in the field of psychology were assessed. The 18 Hungarian scientists ranked in the field of psychology include three professors from the ELTE Faculty of Education and Psychology. They are the only scholars in the ranking affiliated with the psychology institutes of Hungarian universities.
