Just as previously, this exclusive webinar lecture series will be available for registered Alumni Hungary members only! You can participate in special lectures with world-famous and internationally renowned Hungarian scientists, artists, sportspersons, businesspersons either from the comfort of your home via online or – should you be in Budapest – in person at various venues in the city.
As the next guest of our exclusive webinar series Judit Polgár, the legendary Hungarian chess grandmaster will reflect on her life, professional career and international experience while giving in insight for those who attend on achieving unparalleled excellence in a fundamentally competitive field.
Judit Polgár is the paragon of lifelong commitment as she has been destined to transform the world of chess from a very early age. At the age of 9 she won her first international competition, at 12 and 14 she won not only the Hungarian championship among boys but also triumphed twice at the Olympics as a team with her sisters. At the age of 15 she became the youngest international chess grandmaster and has defeated such chess world-champions as Spassky, Karpov, Kasparov, Topalov, Anand and Carlsen. She was awarded the Chess Oscar seven times and was elected Woman Chess Player of the Century.
While she is considered to be the strongest female chess player of all time, Judit Polgár also has indisputable virtues as a civilian: she is giving lectures, exhibitions, published multiple books and made unprecedented efforts to introduce chess as a tool in education. As a result, today chess is an integrated subject available for elementary schools.
Participants of the webinar will have the unique opportunity to understand first-hand the cycle of learning, succeeding and transferring the acquired experience to future generations and how Hungary can facilitate this process on an international scale.
