After the former consultations and trainings for higher education institutions’ colleagues, it was clear that the data collection is a current topic. To develop and learn on this field, Nena Grceva, the Head of Alumni Relations Office at CEU presented the database and the corresponding issues and methods what they use at her university. For example the alumni CRM system helps them to manage relationships with alumni and donors, like inviting alumni to local events, creating targeted communication materials, fundraising appeals, reports and engaging volunteers.

It was very interesting how an institution could benefit from an effective database and for which field they could use a system like this.

Based on the presentation, the participants had the possibility to think the topic further through a workshop. We all could see that such a database would be a very useful tool in every HEIs’ everyday work.

In the afternoon session, the Tempus Public Foundation had the chance to introduce its up-to-date activities from the perspective of data collection, such as the Alumni Hungary Network portal and the 1st International Alumni Workshop with senior alumni members scheduled for October 2018.

Within the framework of the consultation, the participants had the opportunity to talk to Hungarian HEIs’ alumni and international relations coordinators and share best practices. We will move forward with the emerged topics by the participants on the alumni training in the autumn.
