Why did you choose Hungary and the University of Miskolc?

Hungary is one of the emerging markets in Europe with a dynamic culture. I have always been fascinated by learning and studying in a new culture and a new country. The University of Miskolc offers one of the competing MBA in Hungary and has been known for its excellence in the field.

How did you like your studies? What was your favourite memory during your studies?

The MBA program at the University of Miskolc was a mix of theoretical and practical lessons, its curriculum is updated with the needs of the job market. Getting to know students from different countries and cultures was a great experience. I have truly enjoyed my studies. My favourite memory is being chosen as International Student Ambassador to uphold the baton of the University of Miskolc and let others know about the university and its programmes and being chosen as International Student Head to work along with other international students in improving the lives of international students community at the University of Miskolc.

How did you like the country?

Hungary has amazed me in every aspect, it has a very rich history, a beautiful present, and a bright future. I love being here and it’s like a second home for me for almost 3 years. Hungarian people are good and helping in nature. While being in Miskolc, I roamed its countryside just to know the country more closely.

Did you have any difficulties with the Hungarian culture? What was that and how did you handle it?

I did not have any difficulties with Hungarian culture, I love the nature of people here, but as an international student language can be one of the barriers but I think that also can be overcome with the right approach and using google translate. One of the ways is to make local friends and have a good interaction with the community.

How does the Hungarian culture differ from the Indian culture?

I believe that the two cultures do not differ a lot. One major difference as per my experience includes hospitality wherein Indians are more hospitable. On the other hand, the business etiquette and culture in Hungary are very much built on hierarchy. Since food and culture go hand in hand, Indian food is full of spices, unlike Hungarian food.

You are among alumni volunteers. Why did you apply for that position? What's your task and how do you manage it? What do you think about the Alumni Network Hungary?

I have applied to become an alumni volunteer because it’s always good to know new people, cultures, and connect with them. Alumni Network Hungary for me is like giving back to our student community and sharing my learning and experiences from a study in Hungary Program. I think Alumni Network Hungary is a good platform where our previous and current students can connect and share their knowledge and guide new students who are entering the job market.

What's your plan for the future?

As I am working now, I plan to stay in Budapest for the next 2-3 years and then would move to other European countries, learn about a new culture, meet new people, and advance on my career path.
