Student Innovations at the University of Győr

Széchenyi Duo competition is a successful event of the University of Győr that supports student innovation by embracing entrepreneurial ideas and research with business potential. As part of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office’s (NRDI) University Innovation Ecosystem project, in 2021 three award-winning teams created prototypes in connection with carbon fibre composites, orthopaedic braces and creative clothing.

The Széchenyi Duo competition has a long history at the University of Győr. The institution’s full-time and correspondent students can apply for the competition in teams of up to four people. The best three projects are rewarded with cash prizes to develop the idea further. Students can apply any innovative idea or concept that results in a mock-up, a model, or a prototype.

This year the closing event of the competition was held online, in which the three winning teams, their instructors, and Dr Tibor Dőry, head of the Management Campus Competence Centre, took part.
"I like Széchenyi Duo because tangible results are always achieved here," said Dr Dőry in his welcome speech, adding that Széchenyi István University is committed to supporting student innovation, for which Széchenyi Duo is a great platform.
