Creating shared success stories through alumni relations
More opportunities are needed for establishing international cooperations to flourish innovation and research. The first International Alumni Workshop was organised in Budapest between 3-5 October for a not smaller purpose than motivate these actions in the field of healthcare and innovation. After the workshop we are very confident that this will be a “To be continued …” story in the future.
Hungarian inventions in the fight against the coronavirus
The COVID–19 epidemic has paved the way for numerous innovations at an unprecedented pace worldwide. Hungary has contributed to this global fight with several initiatives, researches and patents with the help of our universities and scientists. In this article, we have collected five innovations developed at Hungarian universities as a response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Óbuda University is the key partner in a new cancer research
What if the answer to treating cancer could be found in maths? That’s what the EU-funded Tamed Cancer project is attempting to find out. The project uses mathematical modelling to develop personalised cancer therapies. “Maths allows us to calculate optimal drug dosages, which in turn lets us develop therapy and treatment tailored to the individual patient’s unique needs,” says Levente Kovács, a professor at Óbuda University, the project’s lead partner. “This work represents a new approach to tumour therapy – one that ultimately aims to tame cancer.”
Meet our alumni volunteers: Awais Qadir
The time has come to introduce our international alumni volunteer team with 34 people from 17 countries speaking 23 different languages. In the third chapter of our volunteer series, you can read Awais Qadir’s story from Pakistan! He studied in Hungary between 2017-2021 at Óbuda University and now he is working on high entropy ceramics for the aerospace industry to employ novel materials in extreme applications.
