There are many news stories and articles that talk about Hungarian inventions and famous Hungaricums, but Hungarian women in science are less known. Thanks to their talent and perseverance, they have all achieved some kind of revolutionary in healthcare, education, or even scientific research. Meet our alumni volunteers: Zahra Fuladvand

The time has come to introduce our international alumni volunteer team with 34 people from 17 countries speaking 23 different languages. In the third chapter of our volunteer series, you can read Zahra Fulandvan’s story from Iran! She began her doctoral studies in 2017 at the Hungarian University of Fine Art and now she’s working on her dissertation and her final art project to receive the degree.

Óbuda University is the key partner in a new cancer research

What if the answer to treating cancer could be found in maths? That’s what the EU-funded Tamed Cancer project is attempting to find out. The project uses mathematical modelling to develop personalised cancer therapies. “Maths allows us to calculate optimal drug dosages, which in turn lets us develop therapy and treatment tailored to the individual patient’s unique needs,” says Levente Kovács, a professor at Óbuda University, the project’s lead partner. “This work represents a new approach to tumour therapy – one that ultimately aims to tame cancer.”
