Get inspired by the stories of our alumni! In the next few weeks you can read three interviews that were previously made with our senior alumni members. First meet Dr. Luis Fernando Murillo, a genuine world citizen, who lived, studied and taught in numerous countries all around the world. He found his home in Hungary as a professor and also as a Stipendium Hungaricum student at ELTE. The interview was made by our international alumni volunteer Zahar Akkad.

Seven Hungarian universities are listed on the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking, which is one of the most influential university rankings in the world. On the list, which is led by MIT, Stanford and Harvard, the best positions amongst Hungarian universities were taken by the University of Szeged and the University of Debrecen.

Small red berries hanging in bunches from the trees - cherry can surely be found in most gardens in Hungary. Growing from June to August, it is among the most popular fruits of the summer. This time the “Ingredient of the month” is the sour cherry. 
 

In the last couple of months, there were two Alumni Meetings: one in Warsaw, Poland and another one in Quito, Ecuador.

The ELTE Department of India Studies has presented the three new volumes for the India Library series at the ELTE Faculty of Humanities, 13th of November, 2019. A goal of the volumes is the translation of several types of Indian literature and the publishing of India-related studies written in Hungarian as tools which can connect the culture of India to the readership of Hungary.

Tivadar Vida, professor of archaeology at Eötvös Loránd University, is one of the principal investigators of the research project exploring the early medieval population of Europe, which won a grant of €10 million.
