Graduation ceremonies have come to the end at every university in Hungary for the summer. The new academic year is coming soon. But to take a short look back, we would like to share with you the thoughts of some graduates. The graduation speeches were written for the Stipendium Hungaricum Farewell Party 2019.

A week of learning and networking for nearly 10,000 attendees participating from more than 100 countries

NAFSA, Association of International Educators is the world's largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange and in 2018, NAFSA celebrated its 70th anniversary of serving international educators. NAFSA’s Annual Conference and Expo - happening right now - continues to serve as the preeminent unifying destination for the diverse voices of international education to gather each year. The event offers attendees the most expansive views, segmented learning opportunities, and engaging networking events. Each year, nearly 10,000 attendees participate from more than 100 countries.

Veszprém is going to be European Capital of Culture 2023

It is Veszprém’s bid for European Capital of Culture that is backed by the project’s independent, international experts’ board, the decision was announced on Friday in Budapest. Veszprém mayor Gyula Porga and the team of Veszprém-Balaton 2023 wish to thank all who have helped in the preparation process over the past three years.

Training for higher education institutions’ staff and annual international coordinators’ meeting

The Alumni Hungary Network is in close cooperation with the Hungarian higher education institutions (HEI). The aim of the cooperation with the alumni offices of the HEIs is to support their international alumni activities, by providing them with trainings, inviting internationally acknowledged lecturers and reviewing case studies according to their needs. This November was a very productive month for Alumni Hungary Network on this field.

Debrecen, Győr, Veszprém in Finals for European Capital of Culture 2023

Earlier this year, three cities have been shortlisted to become the 2023 European Capital of Culture: the eastern Hungarian Debrecen, the country’s second-largest city, which served twice as the nation’s capital; the beautifully renovated baroque city, Győr, in northwest Hungary; and one of the oldest urban areas, the ‘City of Queens’, Veszprém.

Artificial Intelligence Coalition Complementing IT Companies and Professional Workshops

The Coalition, which the University of Szeged is also a member of, was created to bring Hungary to the forefront of Europe, becoming an important member of the International Artificial Intelligence Community. Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics emphasized that the foundation was based on Hungary's response to the challenges created by artificial intelligence, creating a platform for the cooperation of organizations working in this field.
