Warranties and indemnification

By participating in the call, participants represent and warrant that the texts, photos or videos uploaded by them do    not contain any material, which is in breach of the rights, pleas and claims of third parties whether financial or personal.

The Participant acknowledges that all responsibility for the personal and copyright violations caused      by the preparation or public presentation of the Works is borne by the Participant, including the financial liability for the violation. In case of a clear violation, the Organizer may exclude the Applicant or his / her particular work from the competition.

In case of legal claims that have been established by third parties as justified, the Organizer will     transfer them to the Participant. The Organizer does not provide technical support for the Participant.

Management of exploitation rights

Participant grants a free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and transferable license to use, reproduce, amend, adapt and alter (including but not limited to translate and dubbing), publish, distribute, publicly execute and communicate, broadcast and view the uploaded video (wholly or partially), photo or texts on the websites (stipendiumhungaricum.hu, studyinhungary.hu, alumninetworkhungary.hu) and other platforms of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship including the Stipendium Hungaricum, Study in Hungary and Alumni Network Hungary Facebook pages and Study in Hungary Youtube channel.

The personality rights of the persons who may be involved in the video or photo should be taken into account. The Participant must also have the consent of the persons who are well recognizable in the video or photo to use them.

Exclusions

 

Videos, photos and texts which the Organizer at their sole and unquestionable discretion, shall deem to be unsuitable for publication may be excluded. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude works which contain material which is in breach of third party rights (breach of industrial/intellectual property rights),  could be considered discriminatory based on race, and/or religion and/or nationality; is violent, pornographic or of a sexual nature; is defamatory; incites hatred; contains reference to alcohol, drugs or illegal substances; is contrary to law or contains reference to ill-treatment of animals.

 

Organizer of the calls

 

Tempus Public Foundation is the Organizer of the “Hungary Through Your Lens” call.

 

The selected applications in the calls will appear in Alumni Network Hungary Facebook page Stipendium Hungaricum online and offline events, exhibitions and other activities and occasions that are dedicated to the celebration of the 10 years of Stipendium Hungaricum in Hungary and in other countries all over the world organised by Tempus Public Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and its partners.

 

The calls’ promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook. Stipendium Hungaricum, Alumni Network Hungary and Study in Hungary Facebook page does not share or forward personal data to Facebook.

Data Controller provides the following information to You as the Data Subject of personal data processed by the Tempus Közalapítvány (hereinafter: “Privacy Policy”) in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation; “GDPR”) and Act CXII. of 2011 on Informational Self-determination and Freedom of Information (“Info Act”)

Data Subject: shall mean an identified or identifiable natural person (under Article 4 1. of the GDPR).

 

Data Subject’s consent: shall mean any voluntary provided clear intention of the Data Subject that is based on specific and adequate information, whereby the concerned person declares by way of a statement or an explicit affirmative conduct that it provides its consent to the processing of its personal data.

 

Personal Data: shall mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘Data Subject’); An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an on-line identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person (under Article 4 1. of the GDPR).

Purpose of data management: Stipendium Hungaricum Farewell 2024 – Hungary Through Your Lens call for proposal

Affected person: graduated Stipendium Hungaricum students in 2024

Legal basis for data management: Under Article 6/1. e.) of the GDPR (processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest). The data subject may object to processing on the legal basis necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.

Source of personal data: Participants in the call

Personal Data transmission: To the competent authorities upon request. Submitted content may be used in offline and online communication about the programme by Tempus Public Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and their partners.

Data subject's rights: the data subject has the right to request the controller to access, rectify or erase personal data, to restrict the processing concerning him or her, or to object to the processing. For details of the data subject's rights, please refer to Articles 14-22 of the GDPR.

Duration of processing: up to 5 years after the call for proposals is published or until the data subject's effective objection.

Call for Proposal Photo and video competition for the Stipendium Hungaricum Farewell 2024

Hungary Through Your Lens

Create and share your virtual postcard filled with your unique perspective showcasing your fondest memories of Hungary. Capture the moment when you felt like you found your second home, the people who inspired you the most, and the places where you felt truly amazing.

Apply now and send a picture or a max. 1-minute-long video about your best memories of Hungary and tell the world why studying in Hungary will be a special place in your heart.

The deadline has been extended to 9 June 2024. 23:59 (CET time zone).

Who can apply?

  • The call for the “Through Your Lens” campaign is open for graduate students who have been studying in Hungary as a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders.

  • Participants must be over 18 years old.

How to apply

  • Fill in the application form and upload your video or photo.
  • Write a summary of your chosen photo or video in a maximum of 500 words.

Application requirements

To participate in this call, you must upload content in one type of the following content materials:

Photos

Upload a picture taken during your participation in the Stipendium Hungaricum programme. You do not need to send professional photos, but please make sure that the images you send are not blurred, pixelated, or have any logos or other captions. You can send files up to 100 MB, in jpg or png format.

We expect 1 picture.

Please be sure to pay such technical details as the following:
  • Format: Horizontal
  • Preferred (but not criteria!) size: width: 820 px, height: 360 px
  • File format: jpg, png

Suggested topics for the pictures:

  • Best experiences in Hungary,
  • Your favourite spot at the university where you studied,
  • Your most memorable moment with your best friends,
  • Famous Hungarian sights you visited and liked,
  • Things you will miss from Hungary,
  • Hungarian food you tasted,
  • Hungarian traditions you experience,

If a photo you submit is found to be disruptive or offensive, the Organizer can exclude the applicant from the call.

Short video

Record your video on any device. We do not expect professional material, you can use your smartphone or any other video recording device. Record your video in the right lighting and sound conditions so the final result is not pixelated. You can send files up to 100 MB in mov, avi or mp4 format.

We expect 1 video. Please also upload the transcripts of the videos in .doc format.

Please be sure to pay attention to such technical details as the following:

Light: Natural light is the best! Daytime is preferred. Find a window or soft light source and record with the light coming from in front of you.

Background: Keep it simple! Try to avoid virtual or chaotic backgrounds. Find a quiet place with no background noise. Try to make sure there are no echoes or background distractions while recording.

Eyes: Look directly into the camera. Try not to look at yourself while you’re speaking and keep the camera at eye level.

Position: You can sit or stand, as long as you are comfortable! Try to keep a slight distance from the camera. We recommend staying around one arm’s length away from the camera.

Language: English

Format: If possible, make your video in a vertical layout.

Duration: maximum 1 minute

Please make sure you upload the transcript of your video.

You can choose any style – be personal, and creative and let your imagination run free. Also, you can tell your message in a poem, in slam poetry, or in any other format, be original! Feel free to use pictures and videos taken during your participation in the Stipendium Hungaricum programme.

The Organizer reserve the right to exclude the applicant from the campaign and not use the submitted video or photo which could be considered discriminatory based on race, and/or religion and/or nationality; is violent, pornographic or of a sexual nature; is defamatory; incites hatred; contains a reference to alcohol, drugs or illegal substances; is contrary to law or contains a reference to ill-treatment of animals.

How and where do we use what you send?

The submitted content will be uploaded to the Alumni Network Hungary Facebook page to take part in the voting process.

Submitted content may be used in offline and online communication about the programme by Tempus Public Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and their partners, to promote the Stipendium Hungaricum programme.

Participant grants a free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and transferable license to use, reproduce, amend, adapt and alter (including but not limited to translating and dubbing), publish, distribute, publicly execute and communicate, broadcast and view the uploaded video (wholly or partially), photo or texts on the websites (stipendiumhungaricum.hu, studyinhungary.hu, alumninetworkhungary.hu) and other forums of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship including all existing social media platforms of the Study in Hungary and Alumni Network Hungary brands.

The procedure for the photo competition

  1. Photos and videos are invited from 27 May 2024 until midnight on 6* June 2024 via the application platform. Only photos and videos submitted by the platform that correspond to the theme of the competition will be considered. If the Tempus Public Foundation considers a submitted photo and video to be a disturbance of the peace, it may be excluded from the competition.

  2. From 10 June until 17 June, the public will be able to vote for their favourite. The first 3 photos with the most interactions (including likes, shares and comments) will be rewarded with prizes:

    First place: The Hungarian Cookbook and a Stipendium Hungaricum package (Stipendium Hungaricum Booklet, Stipendium Hungaricum Card Case, Stipendium Hungaricum Suitcase Label, Stipendium Hungaricum mini dictionary)

    Second place: Periodic Table of the Hungarians and a Stipendium Hungaricum package (Stipendium Hungaricum Booklet, Stipendium Hungaricum Card Case, Stipendium Hungaricum Suitcase Label, Stipendium Hungaricum mini dictionary)

    Third place: a Stipendium Hungaricum package (Stipendium Hungaricum Booklet, Stipendium Hungaricum Card Case, Stipendium Hungaricum Suitcase Label, Stipendium Hungaricum mini dictionary)

  3. The winning photos will be announced by the Tempus Public Foundation on, and the authors of the selected photos will be notified by e-mail.

The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Organizer. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted and the prize is non-transferable. No substitution of prize or transfer of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winners are permitted. 

Odds

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. No purchase or fee is necessary to enter or win.

Winners’ Selection and Notification

The Winners will be announced on the official Facebook page of Alumni Network Hungary on 18 June, 2024, until 17:00 PM. After the announcement, the Winners shall contact the contact person of Tempus Public Foundation via email.

If the Winners do not contact the contact person and fail to claim the prize within 7 days from the time of the announcement, the prize may be forfeited, and no alternate Winners are selected. The Organizer reserves the right not to announce a winner.

Rules of participation

The campaign is open only to natural persons over the age of 18 who can participate and who accept the campaign's conditions of participation and data processing. By participating, the applicant acknowledges that he/she is fully aware of the rules of participation and accepts them unconditionally.

An applicant may submit up to 1 application, which may include at least 1 photo or 1 video. Only photos and videos will be accepted which are taken about the previously mentioned topics (discussed in the "Application Requirements" section). Only self-produced material may be used in the campaign and all rights and responsibilities for the text, image or video submitted belong to the submitter.

By submitting an entry, you warrant that the work is your own intellectual property and that it is not legally binding on any third party and that you acknowledge that the identifiable persons in the photo or video have consented to the use of the photo or video. Tempus Public Foundation staff reserves the right to exclude any uploaded photo or video from the campaign without prior notice if it is deemed disturbing.

Applications must be submitted using the form in the call for entries. By submitting an application, you acknowledge that you wish to participate in the Tempus Public Foundation's campaign "Hungary Through Your Lens” The applicant acknowledges that he/she is a former recipient of a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme.

By accepting the privacy notice on the application form, the applicant agrees to the free use of his/her submission on Tempus Public Foundation's online channels (social media and websites), events and publications, with the applicant's name mentioned, for marketing communication purposes. Submitted material may not be subsequently copyrighted or owned by the applicant.

The campaign will not be supported in any way by Facebook.
